The most commonly used fillers (Juvéderms & Restylanes) are made of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the skin! Thanks to its ability to store moisture, hyaluronic acid (HA) is responsible for giving skin a plump and hydrated look.
HA fillers (Juvéderms & Restylanes) are clear gel-like substances often referred to as ‘syringes.’ Each syringe is 1ml of product ranging in price from $600-$900 each. It takes 5 syringes to fill up a teaspoon! And most women require 4-6 syringes for optimal correction in their first year.
Once a syringe is injected, the gel begins to integrate into the substance of the skin, attracting water molecules and hydrating the surrounding tissue. Filling, plumping, contouring, volumizing, lifting…

While the bulk of filler is made with hyaluronic acid, different particle sizes will deliver different results.
Juvéderm Voluma & Restylane Lyft have larger particle sizes—think of them like the bricks of a foundation. Those larger particles have the strength to “rebuild” cheek structure and contour. While a smaller particle size, as in Juvéderm Volbella or Restylane Silk, work better for addressing the fine surface lines and plumping lips.
Treatment frequency depends on your individual aesthetic goals, the type of HA filler you’re using and in which area of the face. Because of their temporary nature, it’s almost always necessary to renew your HA filler treatments at regular intervals. To avoid any changes in your appearance, it can be helpful to schedule your filler maintenance treatments before the effects of your last treatment have worn off. To teach our clients the importance of this – we’ve launched our first ever Filler Club!
